You see an ad in a newspaper or on the internet that goes like this "Earn
$750-3,000 week designing websites! Work at home. Go to www.xyz.com"
How it Works
Since you have website design experience you sign up. You are told that in
order to get paid for your work you will have to use special software that is
approved by the company. This special software sells for $50-500. So you
purchase the software and begin designing websites.
Reality Check
After you submit your work it is rejected by the company because the quality
of your site isn't up to their 'quality standards'. Unfortunately it is impossible
to meet their standards since the job offer was bogus. All they wanted was
for you to buy their overpriced web design software.
In the end you are left with overpriced software and no one to buy your
websites, but that doesn't stop the bogus company from using your sites
that you submitted.
What a scam!
Tip: Never pay for materials! A legit employer would not force to buy special
materials.
